I have a 1965 Barracuda for sale bought it a few months back and decided to sell it for personal reasons. It has a 318v8 in it right now, It is a really good looking car, there are some paint cracks up by the window area around the car. Not too bad though. I replaced the starter a month ago and added a dual master cylinder last week with a new transmission seal. When I drive it on hot days it does squirt oil up under the hood by the filter. It might have vapor lock also when I drive on hot days because it does have a hard time starting back up after turning off. This only happens on hot days though. It could use some better carpet. Love the car but I would rather have a later 70's model, just prefer I guess. Let me know if you have any questions. I am kind of new when it comes to owning a mopar, so if you have any suggestions on how much I should sell the car for please let me know. Thanks. I am also located in Northern California

Might wanna put a price before the mods delete the ad...

edit: just noticed your statement as to how much you should sell for...please don't take it the wrong way, but if you run a search in the past sold ads, you could probably find a good starting point, or if you at least post up an initial price, it can be negotiated.

Thanks sorry I don't know how I missed putting it up. I am asking 10750, if this is unreasonable let me know, I tried to look but couldn't find any other starting point, Thanks for looking

It's a great looking Barracuda-best of luck with the sale. I'm sure there's probably someone on here who'd want it...just bump it once a week

Thanks. Will trade car too I'm looking for a running 70's challenger or Barracuda if possible.

I can't see the back of the driver's side valve cover, but are you running a pcv valve? Pressure buildup may explain your oil problem. Nice car.

Bump new price 10000. Also I am financing through bank but can pay the car loan off if you are seriously interested.

Any suggestions on how to get more interest in my car going. I will probably drop price of course.

Wanted to add some more pics, I also had a question about the cracks in the paint, I am asking 9300 dollars now, but seeing the cracks on the car, does this seem too high?

Not that I'm a pro at them, but I'd think the neighborhood of $6K-6500 is close. It's not that it's a bad car. It's that the body style just doesnt garner the big cash.

I too think that $9300 is way optimistic. For that in an early-A, you would need top features like front disk brakes, big rear-end, 4-spd, ... Though I live close by in Sac, not interested since my motor pool is over-flowing. I am just offering honest advice.

The engine paint looks good on the inner fenders, but looks like someone painted over rust or bad paint on the firewall, and most prefer body color in the bay. The cracks in the outer paint don't appear symptomatic of rust or serious problems, since I think those are at seams where even the factory used filler. However, they could use touch-up, which might be tricky.

The dash paint job looks cool, but hard to tell if good close-up. The tranny shifter looks like something cloned from a later car, at least nothing like the floor shifter in my 65 Dart auto. I thought maybe a manual until I noticed no clutch pedal.

put it on e bay run it for 9k see what action you get then you can dropp to 8k

thats been going rate this year for 65 barracuda"s if real nice to bad bottom fell outa market i would luv to pick it up but im in wisc luv my 65 cuda"s

There is a place in Suisun called specialty auto sales. They sell classic cars on consignment and I'm sure they could move it for ya. Give them a call to see what they could do for ya. They have a huge network of people that they use. Hell I went by there on Monday and they had just sold a Turd looking 74 dart for 19,950!

The black on on ebay has a lot of things going for it that the yellow one doesn't. It is a Canadian Barracuda, it is black with a very good paint job, it has great looking wheels, tires, new carpeted interior and an 8 3/4 rear with detailed undercarriage. Also, it is through a dealer and it doesn't have a hard time starting.

Sorry but 5000 is a little low for me right now.

Thanks for all the advice so far. I understand where you guys are coming from. The car has no problems starting now. I have figured it out. The shifting cable does need adjustment. I was told a new shifter would help. New alternator, battery. I think that was the problem with the starting issue. The battery turn out to have a bad cell. Luckily the lady at kragen gave me a replacement for free. Saved me 200 bucks. I am in no rush to sell right now but I do agree I am priced a little high.
