Yesterday I put in 13 hours and everyone of them was gruelling. And I get no support from management. I needed to take out some aggression. But since the rifle range is a good hour away I backed the Dart out of the garage, let her warm up and did a horrendous dual stripe burn out down my street. Then parked it back in my garage and closed the garage door. 5 minutes later the cops showed up. They couldn't do anything about it. But I was calm as a cucumber and slept like a baby. Wife was pissed.

I used to do the same thing.

Now that I am 56 I do it less often since I don't have the frustrations/stresses etc. that I had when I was younger. Now, I do it for fun.

with all the positive responses on my method of resolving my stress issues I went out again a half an hour ago to see if I was doing it right. I was. BTW...I'm 52. And those M/T drag radials sure are fun. I had to wash off the rubber from my rear quarter panels two days in row. Middle of the day no one is around to complain.

LOL

Last weekend my wife and I were in my 2007 Charger on our way home. We turned onto a street that is safe for a short burnout so I turned off the ESP control and hit the AutoStick into first gear and lit the rear tires up. She turned to me and said "Just for fun or is something bothering you?" I laughed and said "Fun!" She smiled and held my hand.

Hey soul your the new mopar good for the day hope it was enough to put a smile on your face.well done.

I used to have an dune buggy with dual 48 IDA webers and open exhaust. It was loud. EVERY time I started it up and would do some tuning the cops would role up about 20 minutes later.

The cops knew they couldn't do anything about it, as it was during the day, and I wasn't driving it up and down the street. I knew they couldn't do anything about it. I would let them know I was tuning the car and was done for the day. They rolled up simply to look like they were doing their job.

The cops know that unless they catch you doing a burnout they can't do anything, but they roll out on the call to let the neighbors know that they are on the job and will respond to a call. Your wife is pissed because she doesn't like a police cruiser parked in front of her house. Makes you look like the WT people on the block.

So do your :burnout: away from your nosey neighbors. Remember you've got to live with your wife and neighbors, having either pissed at you can by itself be stress inducing.

By the way, I am 44 and still love a smoky burnout. :happy2:

Do some burnouts in front of Dairy Queen, like when you were a teenager.

Regards,

Joe Dokes

Where do you live that the cops showed up in 5 minutes? Here, you're lucky if you get guys on the same shift as when you called...

Heavens no. The Dairy Queen is closer to the police station and there is a donut shop across the street from it. I'm the least of my neighbors problems. 2 Mongols just moved in down the street so they take the heat off of me. They are actually pretty nice guys. But when I fire that thing up it usually makes a racket anyway. Ironically my test/tune strip is two blocks away from the police station on the same street as the Edelbrock facility. That's where I go most of the time when I can't make it to Fontana. You can't tell me we all have that 'spot' to 'test' at. I can't take a picture of myself when I'm driving. But you can see the car in my picture folder(wherever that is..I know its here someplace). Maybe if I take my GoPro off of my motorcycle....Naw..I'll save that for Mopars at the Strip.

Next time you do a burnout have some donuts and coffee waiting for the boys in blue. Might as well feed them while they visiting.:coffee2:

When I had my GSXR1000 and I had a bad day the trip home hardly took any time at all.....

Just curious, but what was your wife pissed about? The cops showing up, the smoke and smell, the fact she had insomnia that night and didn't sleep at all, or not getting her own burn out??? :-D

My hero. You can live in my neighborhood anytime

The only reason Pam would be pissed was if I didn't let her do a couple,....

Leanna,...Pammie took a sign like that to work,...boss was unimpressed,....(no sense of humour)...

Wow, that's a surprise. I've had a version of that sign hanging at my workplace for nearly 20 years now. Most of that tenure was in law firms. Go figure ....... LOL

I like Pammie more and more all the time Jaimus. :-D How's she feeling lately?

Burnouts,whizzed off cops,donuts,and boobies? Man, great thread!(lol).
