i am building a 408 i wanna keep on the street upper end take to the track 1 or 2 times a month i have a 727 and a 904 wich 1 should i build
and what is the best stall for me looking at 480 hp or who builds the best tranny lets say the 904 for header clearance 10 inch outlaw by aac or do i want to go smaller with higher stall but maintaine streetability on the edge going in a 65 barracuda with 3:91 posi like to go low 11 high 10ns wich way to go tranny and tourquenverter

I would go 727, with a 9.5" dynamic, mine flashes at 4,400rpm and is totally streetable. CRT trans in indiana i here is good.

You shouldn't need a ton of stall with the stroker. I'm thinking a well built 904 and a high 3k converter should get close to your goal. I've seen members using the 9.5 PTC in that range with good results. Hope some of them will chime in.

go with the 904.

for a converter call dynamic, ptc and ultimate converter companies and see which one your more comfortable with and get them to build a converter to your combo and intended use. thats the best way to get a converter you'll be happy with. may cost a little more but will be well worth it..

Selection, or rather designing stall speed one has to consider several parameters, and a few calculations. Converter companies figure out this stuff every day.
Torque converter builder will need to know engine size and build details, cam profile and its rpm range, transmission type, rear gear, tire size, intended use of car and its weight are also considered.
Don’t take someone’s converter recommendations as their engine build, drive train, and weight of vehicle most probably are different from your situation.

none better

i have a 400 h.p. 360.crt built my 727.rpmvb with a ptc 3000-3400 convertor.it is great on the street and at the track.i would highly reccommend him.he is a great person to deal with and knows mopars.if you are close to indiana hes the man,so is a&a transmissions
