Measuring For Pushrods w/ 273 Rockers

I will check valve installed height tonight. They're just a set of ancient 273 cast rockers on new shafts. Is there a good rule of thumb for inconsistent rockers? I was going to swap them around enough to get max lift on all valves within .020 of each other. This is just a truck engine so the tolerance doesn't need to be perfect.
