WorkBench ReDo

These old work benches are so so hard to find these days, I was helping (driving a 2 ton ) move a friend of my son, and his father and I spotted a work bench about like that
one and it had a note on it Not to be moved.. Thank you. The owner of the building would not part with it.... it had a built in Michigan stamped on it.
I would guess it was built in the 50'es. It looked like it was made for water because
in front of the back splash it had a row of of maybe 8 to ten 1/4'' holes on both sides

I agree about these old benches Mike. I can't remember what I paid for them as it was quite awhile ago and I bought alot of stuff all at once.

Interesting about the bench with the holes in the backsplash. Wonder what it was used for.......

looks great so far!!! Keep em comin!!!

Thanks MD

I made my bench out of an old fire door. Solid wood, but Im not able to beat on it with a hammer. But I can drill holes in to secure bench grinders and such. A good bench is tops on the list of must haves, along with a good vise! Ill be on the lookout for one of these for a second bench.

Both of these have holes from a vise and grinders being mounted. They'll be mostly covered up again with more of the same.
