That's the way I do it too, the only thing is you need to open up the hole in the firewall a little for the aluminum master.
I had the opposite problem. The opening in the firewall of my 64 Valiant is bigger (kind of square), so I used a big washer between the new MC and firewall to cover the gap. I cut white foam from electronics packaging for gaskets (RTV would also work).

I got a new MC for a 95-99? Breeze (or any "cloud car") w/ ABS off ebay for ~$25. I used that because already using on my Dart. The ABS version has a F & R port that are inverted flare for 3/16" tube. The non-ABS MC has more ports, so would have to plug some. Later MC's have ports for bubble-flare, which you could make (see youtube), but why bother.
