Howdy all, cosgig here!! Up for sale or trade today is a 1978 Dodge Colt that I just received from a longtime friend. He has owned this car for many years, and has recently been through a very rough time losing his grandson, and needed some money for funeral expenses, so he offered to sell me the car. I don't need it, and so I would like to trade it to someone who wants it and would like to do something with it. Heres some details...

This car is a running and driving vehicle, and the motor runs like a top. The odometer shows a little over 21,000 miles, but I have to assume that it has rolled over once. The body on the car is pretty good, but there is also rust here and there in places. The interior is pretty nice, but the driver seat is a little tattered and fixed with duct tape on the bun. The trunk is clean, and all the trim and stuff is in decent condition.

The car is not without it's flaws though. Most importantly, the front subframe on the drivers side is rusty near the trans crossmember mount, and should be gusseted or layed over with some reinforcement before bombing down any dusty backroads. The master cylinder also needs replacing, and as of now the carb needs adjusting as it runs flawlessly when cold, but when the choke butterfly opens when it's warm, the car runs rough and likes to stall!!

There is some rust on the passenger inner fender in the front, and some on the lower fender extension on the drivers side also, and in spots around the rest of the car.

All in all, this is a pretty clean little car, and with just a little work could be put into daily service. My buddy was driving it to shows and around town until the M/C started to go back in September. It has a clean Michigan title and is ready to find a new home!!

I am looking to trade it for something Mopar, not interested in much else!! I am also willing to sell the car for $800.00 straight out, no negociations. I will be splitting the money with Bill to give him something extra for his expenses!! It is located in Michigan, near Ann Arbor if you'd like to come see it. As usual, message with any questions, inquiries, or requests for additional pics. Thanks for looking, and enjoy!! Geof

Oh, don't mind the date on the pics, they are from yesterday!! Thats what you get when you let the 8 year old take the camera on his field trip, and "adjust" the settings!!

I want this car so bad I cant stand it.....I sure wish you were closer (or could meet halfway).I'm all the way down in va. and don't think my truck would be happy going that far!
How's the front strut towers look? Any rust?

There is no rust around the front strut towers. The only rust in a structural area is the front drivers subframe near the trans crossmember mount, as mentioned in the description above. I'll get a few more pics and post them thursday!! If I wern't working sun-up to sundown, I would go out and take a pic and include it here right now. That'll have to wait until turkey day, as that is the next day i'll have off for sure!! Geof

Any interest in a '79 Magnum T-Top car thats complete minus engine with some rust issues? was a factory 360 car, Eggshell white, automatic clothe interior no rips but some sun fading, Clean Ohio title, 98k miles.. im about 83 miles from Ann Arbor according to Google maps

i'd put set of factory "Magnum XE road wheels" i have for it on and keep the mags

Have more recent pictures (hoods back on now) but Internets being a pain at the moment.

I do still have the Colt, and so far I've gotten the carb cleaned and readjusted and this little thing runs like a top...or sewing machine!! I've also bought the master cylinder and have all the connections sprayed and will be changing that out when time permits.

I actually have a member interested in the car, and he has asked me to wait until after Christmas to see if he can swing the deal, so the offer for the car is on hold until he gets his chance!! I'll keep the thread updated as new info comes in!! Geof
