400ci to 500ci

My plans are to stroke a 400 block I have prepared to a 470ci or 500ci for my Duster. I want a nice street rod that gives me max ponies for the money without making a race only motor. A 470 stroker kit sound very nice to me but a 500 stroker kit makes me smile just a bit more - But I don't like those tiny 1.12 compression height pistons. My question is: Why not combine the 4.15 stroke crank with the 6.535 rods instead of the 6.76 rods and use pistons around the 1.34 c.h. range? This would still give a 1.57 rod ratio and a light piston, but kits are not available in this range. Am I missing a dwell or port timing issue here or is it simply that pistons off the shelf are not available.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
