Nice job on everything! Love these budget builds sourcing good used stuff off other cars. Should be a nice, fun daily driver.

As for those crappy welds, quality control in the assembly plants back in the 70s was really poor. I bought a new Dodge van in 74 and assembly-wise it was a major piece of ****. I had it for a week and then took it back to the dealer with a list of about a dozen major and minor problems, things like the steering developing a half-turn of play after only 150 miles. My wife bought a new Firebird in 79 and it was almost as bad.

Things are a lot better now. I bought a Dakota new in 2000, still have it with 207K mostly trouble-free miles on it, hope to drive it for a long time yet.
