What was your first concert ?

-
I didn't see my first actual "paid-for" concert until 2001, when I was 25. It was the Family Values Tour in Chicago, October 2001. Dead Sea, Static X, Linkin Park, Staind, and Stone Temple Pilots. In 2009, my wife and I went to our first concert together, Stone Temple Pilots on their reunion tour. The best concert I have been to was Muse, The Resistance Tour, at the United Center in Chicago in March of 2010. We were going to go see them again in St. Louis in November, but their bass player decided he needed to knock up his wife for the FIFTH time, so the concert was cancelled because that was about the time she was due.

I have seen, for free, over the years: American English, Presidents of the United States of America, Richard Marx, Dennis DeYoung, Billy Ocean, Cletus T. Judd, Digital Underground, Night Ranger, Charlie Daniels Band, Spin Doctors, and others I cannot remember at the moment. Oh, and I saw John Kay and Steppenwolf at the base club on the Naval Amphibious Base in San Diego. That was a very close, intimate concert. There were maybe 50 of us there, and he actually talked to us between songs and regailed us with stories from "back in the day." I think that was probably my most memorable concert.

Peter Frampton, warmed by some nobody named Gary Wright.
"nobody"??????

ooooooh dreamweaver....I believe you can get me through the ni-iiight

he's not a nobody.

Just a one hit wonder:D

...I think my first concert was David Lee Roth's Eat'em and Smile tour (at the Calgary Saddledome), but I could be wrong. It could have been Bon Jovi at the Stampede- I saw all the hair bands from the mid-80s to the mid-90s.

Best shows were Alice Cooper (x2) and Def Leppard on the Hysteria tour.

1978(I THINK) allentown fair.. VAN HALEN..
Im jealous !!!! Man I started playing guitar because of Eddie and eruption !! I have seen van halen 4 times Dave 2x and Sammy 2x And 2x Dave Solo but to see them in 78:prayer:

"I forgot man" (in my best Tommy Chong voice) LOL tmm

I think Little River Band opened for Heart.

KISS, 1977 or 78 can't remember exactly but it was a blast, best concert I ever went to for the music was Red Rider, it was nearly an Altered State experience, with April Wine a close second. Wow that's going back a long ways!

Ink Spots.....

First one was Elvis at the Civic Center in Charleston WV in 1960. Favorite was Pink Floyd at Municipal Stadium in Cleveland in '73. Dudes were passing out acid at the gates and 92,000 people became deathly silent as a pink Cessna crashed into the stage and burned at the end of Brain Damage. At least that's what I think I saw....... :happy10: :happy10:

.38 Special. Don't remember the year. They were on a weekend card for the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen. All three Wallace brothers were in the crowd. Tried to hook up with the shots girl, but then again so was everyone else... lol

It's pretty amazing how even stuff that you think you don't like is still cool live. The only thing i ever saw live that was total crap was the Kinks that led off for either Bad Company or Foreigner. Capitol Center outside DC, 20k of us ran them off the stage before they finished. Was pretty amazing....lol.

The Grateful Dead at the Nassau Collisium, 1979,...I think,...We all loaded,...and got loaded in my 73 Space Duster,...I remember getting there, the sun was still up when we parked the car,...Don't remember leaving,...or much else after that....

The only Rock concert I saw at the Kingdome was the Monsters of rock in 1988
Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken, Metallica, and Kingdom come.
Some moron threw a camera and hit Klaus Meine in the throat he said f u seattle and they walked off the stage that was only a few songs into their set !!!!

There was a small venue between Wash. & Balt. called Meriweather Post pavillion. Held about 2,500. Probably the best place i ever saw live performances, and i saw just about everybody that came to the DC. area between 1974 to 1980. Jefferson Starship was awesome. Got to see Grace Slick from about 10' away :thumbrig:. And Jackson Browne on a blind date with a girl that was 5' tall, 95lbs and a "D" cup. Oh yea, that was a memorable concert.....:D.

Judas Priest with Savoy Brown in Portland Or. 1980, great show. Saw Van Halen that same year.
