Now are only the front edge of the fins silver??? Are the fins on the 70 the same width as the 71? i looked into this the other day and it appears the grilles are really the same, only a paint design change. It seems that alot of the grilles end up looking like the 71 year because of the ease of just painting the fins totally black.

How do you mean? 72 is a one year only grill. Solid all the way across, no center division like 70-71.
Edit: too slow!

The blackened grill fins of the 71, plus the flush side marker lights and the double tail light arrangement on the 71 are a few of the reasons that it's my favorite year for the Swinger.
70 has argent grill fins, and a single tail light arrangement.
72 has a different grill and surface mounted side marker lights.

Plus I like the vent window cars better than the non-vent window arrangement that followed in 73 and later. The beak in the hood and grill doesn't do much for me, either. However, the 73's do have the larger lug bolt circle that is pretty desirable.

lol. i always liked the 70 tail lights better..

Thanks for the side by side Joe!

Im having a hard time deciding which I like better for my 70...Black or Silver fins...hmm...

Hmm i was always under the impression that 70-71 grilles were identical and the fins came in both ways. Learn something new every day! my 70 will have a 71 style grille in the case.

and Joe, im with u on the taillight setup, luckily mine IS a 70 and i already got the better (in my opinion, of course) taillights
