I've been out of the game for a while. Is there a good place that'll sell a manual steering box for a 68 A body? Everywhere I look, people want a million bucks for them. Why are they so expensive? I'm trying to convert my power set-up to a manual set-up.

Does anyone wanna trade???

this may sound crazy but try O'riels or auto zone i have found a lot of stuff there for older cars

Do you want a brand new one or used one?

New ones are $300+

Used ones are about $100.

A used one would work fine as long as it isn't shot. Would I need a different pitman arms going from power, to manual?

I already assumed I was going to get the adapter.

Thanks guys!

Try Borgesons.com $360 to $750 a bit steep but good. I converted from power to manual. Nice set up...

You might need a new Pitman arm.Depends what size sector large or small.
If not still get a new one. Moogs are good.
I replace my steering unit from power to manual. The steering shafts are shorter on power steering cars. (At least on my) Bought a rebuilt colum did the trick

I have a good used manual box and steering column, PM me.

Do you guys know what years, and models these manual boxes will fit??? Just trying to get an idea of what to look for in the wrecking yard.

Thanks,
Evan
