Will a 66 Barracuda heater box fit/work in my 71 Scamp? Im looking to remove my A/C Box and go with just the heater.

Put some hair around the hole, spit on it, and shove hard. It'll fit.

Let me look at my book, (66 model) and a camera and will post a picture of it and
see if we can get a good perspective of the 2 , be right back

I have a 66 Valiant 2 dr sedan and the Barracuda share the same
if you need any measurements or pictures of it in my car let me know.. looks like a very simple install possibly :coffee2:

This is what a 66 barracuda will look like

memike, Thank you for those pics! The box looks almost the same, just smaller than mine. Also is the box cable operated or does it use vacuum lines for the damper doors? How does that box attach to the fire wall? Mine has studs that go through with nuts on the engine side.

Glad to be of some help
Cable operated straightlinespeed, Let me look on how it is mounted :sign3:

Even the correct 71 model heat only box will require firewall mods. The hole for the fan motor and case mounting hole locations are different.
Changing the non a/c firewall to a/c layout isn't so difficult. Changing the a/c firwall to non a/c will be a little more difficult. Rather than remove metal you will be adding a little bit of metal. Hope this helps

Yes it does, I appreciate your help!!!

Looks like a stud from the outside and bolted in from the inside, I only see 2
holding the air box in place I believe.. here is one, the best I can do.. but I am sure
there is no nuts or bolts on the outside to attach it.

This was a couple years ago. but it should give you a good idea what is where on a 66 barracuda

Thanks again memike.:thumbup:I believe I have 4 stud locations so 2 is better yet. Just sucks since my car is 3.5 hours away from me so I cant run out and look. The box look close to fitting, the nice thing is my brother has the heater box at his place so its not like Im out money or shipping if it dont fit.

It was my pleasure to be able to help, I don't get to very often :D
