318 combo's

when I first got my duster, it had a 77 318 in place of it's original 340.... since the lil 318 was in there, I figured I'd play with it. slammed on some mildly ported magnum heads, mopar .450/.455 lift cam (spec's in the .480's with the 1.6 rockers), an M1 dual plane, holley 600 vac secondary carb and some mopar 1 size fits all small tube headers feeding a 2 1/2" exhaust with an h pipe and dynomax super turbo mufflers. hit a dynoday with that combo and it put down 215rwhp/252rwtq .........at the time of the dyno, I had a smoked out slushy 727 in the car that took an easy 3/4 second to shift. pulled that trans out a few weeks later and the fluid was a silvery black mess all filled with chunks o clutch.... gauranteed she'd have laid down a good 15/20 more hp with a crisp trans in there.

I never did hit the track with it, but after I swapped a crisp 904 in with a 2500 stall, I stomped an M5 twice out of the hole with it. thing was a lil screamer for what it was.
