I did the LongBed conversion in my driveway. I cut the rear frame rails right above the axle, unbolted the front leafspring bolt and rolled the whole assembly back 20.5" The truck already had a two piece driveshaft, so I had a new front shaft made and moved the carrier bearing back 20.5", this kept the driveshaft angles the same as factory. I set the pinion angle and ride height by relocating the factory front spring hangers. The frame is 10gauge (1/8") thick, I used 6"X2"X.25" rectangular tubing for the sectioning of the frame rails.
