This Ramcharger is one of the best examples of a street legal big block conversion you'll ever find. Built from the ground up, the frame is a 1977 BB 4WD Ramcharger HD, the body is a 1990 Ramcharger SE, and the drive train is a 440/727/208 big block combo. As it stands, it's registered as a 2004 Specially Constructed Vehicle and adheres to 1977 CA SMOG testing for heavy-duty CA trucks (no catalytic converter or air pump required). All DMV and BAR paperwork is complete and approved, title in hand matches all paperwork. Practically every nut and bolt used is new, and the motor, transmission, transfer case, and axels were all rebuilt; even the steering box is rebuilt. The project was officially completed in 2006, and was driven for about 2 years in and around Fremont/Newark (apx 12K miles since completion). It's been parked since, only going around the block once every few months to keep the batteries charged and the fluids churned.

Here's a quick list of the features/components used:
440 RB block mated to 727 transmission and 208 transfer case
March Performance Serpentine belt conversion
Vintage Air polished Sanden A/C compressor (system converted to R-134)
GM alternator conversion w/Powermaster 150A alternator
MSD 6 Ignition system with Timing adjustment (cab mounted)
MSD Billet Distributor and Wires and Blaster coil
Mopar Performance aluminum valve covers, air cleaner, timing cover
Milodon Rear Sump truck oil pan, 8qt plus filter capacity
Complete ARP engine rebuild/replacement kit
Schumacher plasma cut motor mount brackets
Holley Street Avenger carburetor for fun, stock Thermo-quad for SMOG
Bouchillon kick-down cable conversion kit
Doug Thorley Try-Flow Headers w/Jet-Hot coating
Aluminized 3" dual exhaust system with tuned H-pipe
Dual Optima Batteries with Hellroaring Smart Isolator/Combiner
Dual SPAL cooling fans w/manual temperature adjust
Be Cool heavy-duty aluminum radiator
1 TON Dual Diaphragm brake booster and master cylinder setup
Stainless Steel brake lines front to rear, new OE E-brake cables
Dana 44 front / Chrysler 9.25" rear axles with Yukon gears and Warn locking hubs (front)
Genuine Gear polished aluminum differential covers front and rear
Superlift 5" front and rear leaf springs with adjustable drag link and grease-able flipped shackles in rear
Front (OE heavy-duty)/rear (Hellwig) anti-sway bars for street, remove for off-road
Northwestern 45 gallon steel fuel tank with fuel level sending unit
Dual shocks front (GM hoops) and rear (custom spring plates), dual stabilizers in front
Drive shaft slip yoke eliminated with custom CV joint drive shaft and Dana yoke (KM Drivelines in NY)
Custom Steering column with automatic shift collar removed
Hurst shifter on the floor with matching T-handle on transfer case lever
Dual Borgeson steering U-Joints eliminate stock rag joint and ball joint
Ron Francis Wireworks XP-86 Fuse panel and wiring harness
Hella H-4 Halogen headlight conversion kit (OE size)
Power windows, door locks, radio antenna, seats, alarm
Grant GT steering wheel (comes with quick release kit, not installed)
Complete new wiring from headlights to taillights and everything between
Dakota Digital custom built instrument cluster (speedo, tach, oil/water/battery/fuel)
Custom Black/Gray interior with LED cabin lighting (RED door markers too)
Durango R/T leather bucket seats in front (power & heated) with matching rear bench
Tuffy locking center console with padded arm rest (wired for audio system w/cooling fan)
GM overhead console with compass/temperature display, map lights
Chrome plated OEM Dodge roll bar over passenger area
All new weather strips and seals used everywhere, including front/rear window lock strips
All new OE headlight bezels, grill, side markers, tail light lenses, etc.
Mickey Thompson 15"x10" Forged Aluminum Challenger wheels (5" on 5.5")
Mickey Thompson Baja Belted 35"x13.5" tires (worn, only set of tires ever used)
4 Rockford Fosgate 6" component speakers w/tweeters
And on and on. . .

The Good:
Simply put, this truck was built correctly from the ground up, but seeing is believing. To be a show quality truck again (won a trophy in 2006), it just needs some polishing to the undercarriage/drive train (think trailer queen that was driven around a bit). It also comes with boxes of new/replacement parts (eg. new OE hood hinges, brake pads, MSD/Holly kit parts, interior/exterior Dodge parts and fasteners, etc.). Well over $45K invested.

The Bad:
Speedometer never worked (faulty cable adapter -- have replacement), odometer still reads 000000.0
Gear ratios don't match; front 4:10, rear 4:56 (have 4:10's for rear axle, need to be installed)
Tires are worn, and since they're bias ply I recommend new tires before daily driving
A/C system is all there and half pressurized to keep seals wet, but minor wiring required to complete
While there's nice speakers in 4 coroners, radio/amplifier/subwoofer are not included
Current Registration is paid up to date, but needs SMOG (carburetor swap, few vacuum lines to hook up, have all required equipment from last inspection).

You will never be able to build one this nice for such a killer price of $20k or best offer. Most of the value was in just in mechanical parts as everything was new, rebuilt, upgraded or custome made.

$20k or best offer
pm for more info and will have more pics by the weekend.

Posts deleted -- no commentary in a for sale thread... questions about the item/vehicle ONLY.

I got a question about the truck, why isn't it selling for that kind of price!

But then again, that kind of price or not, not all of us has 14K lying around, if I did I'd buy. disgust

wish I knew why it's not getting any bites. Really sweet truck, maybe it's to awsome for the common mopar fan.

Probably not the right time to sell this type of vehicle. I had built a 93 with a 97Cummins12V, 47RH,205 and sold it within a week for $14.5. That was over 2 years ago. I think today, that would take longer.
If you haven't already, put it on ebay with your reserve, and then you'll see what interest is there.

Yeah, might have to put it on eBay. As its my friends truck, I didn't want to deal with eBay stuff. He has no computer, so would be hard to communicate with potential buyers.

I've got a '93 LE 360 Magnum that I would love to exchange for a 12 valve...that is a nice Ramcharger there!

A bump for the month. I will be rewriting the ad and getting 60 new pics of the truck this weekend. The pics are not detailed and the truck info isn't all that eye catching. Think those need my paersonal touch.

Here's an example of one pic I had for mine that sold a few years ago. Taken with a Nikon D5000.
