/6 6-pack

-
There are three two barrel side draft weber set ups. All six throttle blades open simultaneously though.

There are a few intakes, some mild some wild. The 6bbl (3)webers is huge overkill, worked on the better breathing, nothing in common Aussie hemi straight 6, but on a slant with its puny ports, hardly. There are 4bbl intakes, 2bbl's 2X1 intakes (nice) and even a single Weber DCOE side draft that has the worst distribution I have ever seen. The stock 2bbl works nice, works nicer when you turn the carb bores parallel to the motor, like modding a 1bbl for this.

I'm sure it won't run any better but for "looks", Speedway Motors has a 3-2bbl to 4 bbl manifold adapter.

Want to play ?? Got to pay !! But it definitely has a WOW factor going for it !! :blob:

Just curious if someone makes a 6-pack setup for the /6.

Yes! K659 at Redline Weber includes 3 DCOE 40 carbs, the manifold, and linkage. Like 6pakattck said "if ya' wanna play, ya' gotta pay". Open your wallet open real wide for this one.

The small picture is of this setup on a 170 CID mounted in hot rod known as the XR-6 built in about 1963-64 timeframe.

The Speedway manifold price is not bad at $149. Might be able to cobble the rest with used carbs and home made linkage. Looks like there is room to drill and tap the base to use 318 BBD's.Dang it ! Now you got me thinking of doing this........!

You could put fuel injection in it and call it a day.

Im down with that. I got a 1bbl intake getting ready for the band saw, cut them off at about 4 inches and weld a round tube plenum to cover them all (or bolt up a box tight with gasket to avoid welding). TB in the front and a blow off valve in the back (hey, you never know when you'll need one...) drill and epoxy injector bungs, build a fuel rail..TB off a 4.0 jeep...Megasquirt 2.0...off to the races...

Here's a 62 fitted with triples.....

Webers are not overkill. You can put smaller venturis in them, they will give you more torque than just about any other setup (other than EFI) because of the individual runner. They are not like Holleys where a larger carb will bog; each carb bore is designed specifically to feed one intake runner.

I've also seen (actually owned) a triple SU intake, in theory that would be a really nice setup too, but it required too many modifications for me and I stuck with a 2x1bbl.

The early Porsche 911 used two, three barrel Weber carbs.

The efi is the best solution for power, drive ability and economy.

If you want good valid info and people with working multiport efi slant sixes you should post at slantsix.org There are many over there that made the switch to efi years ago. And 1 member at SS is actually a legitimate published author of an efi how to book. His personal car is a 66 slant dart with multiport. Here is his book if you want to do some reading.

Very different indeed, but does it drive

yes, that thing needs a spit valve at the base of that intake J tube. No offense but that is just...well.. bad in so many ways.
