Best LA Exhaust Manifold Bolt sealant?

Hi Gang,

Hope everyone is having great holidays. Had a rear exhaust manifold bolt releasing steam after shutdown. Any advice on the best sealant for these bolts that pass through the water jackets?

I would use a product sold by Toyota called "black seal packing" just like black silicone but it is eurethane and that stuff will seal anything. By far the best sealer I have ever used.

I have been using Permatex ultra-copper. It's a high temp gasket maker.

Heli-Coil

Front and rear should be studs.

Yup. It helps header bolts stay in too.

Permatex high heat thread sealant. Permatex #59214

Permatex ultra-copper is a gasket maker,not a thread sealant.
It is silicone,do not put it on threaded parts,unless you like gunked up threads,when you disasemble. It is used for valve covers,oil pans,intakes.
What you need is a thread sealant. Use the one I suggested.
