Thinking of installing a basic carb base plate n20 wet kit i have that came with car when i got it.Its the Sniper Kit with a.055 jet, the motor is a fresh 68 440E with matching factory forged crank, eagle forged rods,je forged flat tops, comp solid lifter cam 587-609 lift 282 duration ,procomp heads ported gasket matched comp cams hardware, coustom push rods, edelbrock victor intake, holley 850 ,12.5 to 1 compression ,64 cc combustion chambers, hooker fenderwell headers should be 100-125hp shot extra hp would be nice but dont want to kill the motor which is 600- 650 hp as is in a 73 Duster 2800-3000 lb car with a 727 reverse manual and a 742 case 8 3/4 with a spool and 4.30 gears. :burnout:

not telling you yes or no, but i used 51 fuel/44 nos jets in my nos plates. 11.80 @ 116 mph to 10.76 @ 128 mph.

be carefull if you rings are not gapped for nos.

LOL, it's never enough is it? With those forged slugs you should be alright. Just take the usual precautions, maybe use a methanol kit with it.

Enjoy it!

Shake down the car first Roger... And Happy Holidays!

This...

Get the car running really good on engine. Tune up spot on, then go with juice.

Nothing makes a mess faster than having a poor tune up, then adding something else, that needs it's own specific tune up. You start stacking issues and things go wrong.

And yes, to starting small. Add a 50 shot and see how it react.

x3....once its sorted out on motor, spray the *****!

As the saying goes - All Throttle, No Bottle.

What times are you currently running & what are you wanting to get it to? Since you have an on going expence of continually buying more N2O - what would you have to do to your current setup to make it go better without it?

I'll take anything you care to toss my way. I almost dropped by during the snow storm - I saw the garden shed light on when I went by picking up the Chinese food...lol.

no i wont go anymore gonna run it first with no juice then with juice see if its a big difference

Nitrous is like crack. Once you try it, you are gonna like it.

The more efficient the engine the less you will notice it, but I think you will notice the difference....... And then get bigger jets.... And the cycle begins :)

But like crack, you never know when to stop.
I started with 100 shot. then to 125, up to 150, at 175 started breaking parts.:eek:ops:
On my 170 slant six 150 shot is about 3 seconds quicker then NA.
All bottle, no throttle :) :) :)

You found your threshold.lol Now, either upgrade the failed parts or just back off the "juice" a bit. :)

I've run 150 shot of NOS on my 74 Duster over 100 runs with no problems.
Stock 440 with pistons .106 in the hole.
Solid .528 Mopar cam.
Car runs 12.21 off the juice and withNos it went 11.59.

It's addicting.

Hence may "crack" comment about this stuff. :D

well i installed the sniper nos kit with a .055 n2o jet and a .061 fuel jet according to the chart on the holley nos site this should be a 125 hp shot at wot, not sure if ill use it, surly not until car is dialed in and im getting all i can get out of the motor naturaly asperated ,then ill try the nitrous and see how much it lowers my et.

I thought about nitrous too, but I think there may be more in the suspension and tuning to gain from on my car.
I need to step up and beat my brother again...preferably without spraying.
he is all about "all throttle, no bottle".

but please keep this thread updated!!

have you run the car n/a yet?

You might want to verify the plate jetting. That's a FAT tune up...

Most any n2o plate with a fuel jet bigger than juice is going to be fat.

Maybe call Monte Smith and ask him for a tune up. Most all kits I run the fuel jet is usually .008-.010 smaller than the juice jet.

i would swap that around the nos guy monte smith gave me the rundown and said bigger jet for nitrous side smallerfor fuel too rich is worse than too lean

everthing ive heard or read on the internet says bigger fuel jet worst thing with nitrous is running your mix to lean this is carburated base plate not an efi just looked at a nitrous set up site only one that runs a smaller fuel jet is a efi single fogger.
