Low Rider Mopars

People have been making low riders since the 50's rani. It's not about heritage, it's about making a car truly yours. That's the whole point I hot roding, but someone who just wants a car the way it came from the factory wouldn't know anything about that would they?

Does anybody remember led sleds? Kustoms? The Autoramas?
In the fifties every manufacturer was swapping to 14" wheels to lower their production car's profile. Most early A bodies came stock with 13" wheels. Remember the "Forward Look" of Chrysler in '56? (or was it 55?) What about the Hudson Hornet? What about the wing cars, E bodies, or Chargers? They weren't "jacked up" so they can't be musclecars. Right?

My car life started in the 70s and lowriders were very much a part of my awareness and car culture. I've worked on quite a few since then. Would I build one for myself? Probably not. But to dismiss them and say they are not a part of our Heritage is both ignorant and insulting.

Cliff, do what makes you happy. You're the one that has to look out the window and be pleased by what you see. Let your imagination run.
