just my 2 cents......sounds like a pretty good deal to me @ $3K, especially if the 340 is salvagable. I pretty much started with the same thing, you can see my photos in members gallery. Although mine was pretty pristene to begin with, sounds like you got a good start at least for a strip car. I have a stock steel hood, all the seats, underdash heat and AC and I live in Central Illinois, if you do this and have any interest.

The 340 is suppose to be ready to go. He is a mechanic and he told me where he works. He seems like a straight shooter. The vinyl top was removed and the seams filled and the entire car repainted (on top). If I do get it, I will certainly be interested in talking to you about your parts.
