Ok here goes. I heard this weird sound coming from the passanger side tire. I stop and check it out and notice one wheel stud missing and one stud broken and the other 3 loose. I tightend up 2 but 1 wouldnt tighten. now my delemma is i cant get the tire off becuase the stud is stripped and i cant cut it off with out damaging the rim or drum. is there another way i can try to get this off.

What kind of car are we working on? Front wheel or rear wheel? Disc or Drum? What year of brakes are on it?

If front and it is a drum brake pull the spindle nut and bearings then you can remove the whole assembly off so you can access the stud from the back.

Try a die grinder with a cutoff wheel.Just cut it off and replace.Been there with recessed Weld Racing rims/lug nuts. Now that was a chore LOL.

Is it stripped to where the nut just spins? If its just tight a good impact should be able to break the stud ince you have to replace the nut and stud anyway it should be no big deal. If its just spinning in one spot cutting it is the best bet.

I have had to do what they are suggesting and it is no fun. I have also drilled out the center of a stud with progressively larger drill bits and it was also no fun, but was a little easier than the grinder.
