Great link (below) on a breakdown/definitions of oil:

There are three parts to the SAE viscosity grade. The last number (20, 30, 40, etc.) defines the “major” grade. It is determined by the oil’s measured viscosity at 212°F (100°C) and is the most important part of the viscosity grade. It should be considered the operating, or effective viscosity grade of the oil. The “W” stands for “winter”, and not “weight” as is commonly believed; and the first number combined with the W is the “winter grade”. The winter grade of a multi-viscosity oil is determined by two parameters: the Cold Cranking Viscosity; and the Pumping Viscosity. These viscosities are defined as maximum viscosity values at various sub-zero temperatures.

"Lake Speed Jr."?
I wonder.......

What's the best oil is always a hot topic on car forums.
We had a long thread I followed some time ago.
I remember someone named "twoshelbies" or something like that had a lot to say.
Wonder what happend to him. Maybe that MIA thread could find out.
Anyway my take away is that the most important thing to know is the zinc isn't in the oils anymore. And flat tappets need it. LIke is pointed out in the link.
I always put STP in since I think it has it.
And I run Mobile One.

Youre welcome...

I have been around cars since the 70's... my Dad even owned a Goodyear for 30yrs and we always called it 10weight, 20weight, etc. Never knew the "W" was for winter...
Goes to show its never to late to learn somethin.

Where your at you don't have winters, lol

lol... guess thats the logical reason.
Actually finally cooled down recently after a very warm "winter".
Its been 75-8 during days lately but recent cool front has last couple days 72-5*. Perfect weather for the vert...
