I am working on finishing the interior of my '74 Duster. I am looking at buying some new carpet and was wondering where the best place to buy it was?

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'v had good luck with ACC carpets. ( auto custom carpets) They seem to fit really well, and have all the correct heal pads, etc.

I've always bought mine from Newark Auto Products and have been satisfied. They have both molded and flat custom-fit carpets for every make and model going back to 1922. They also sell custom-fit floor mats (to go over your carpet) that are quite nice. And I believe their prices are the most reasonable you'll find.

Ask them to send you a carpet sample and see if you are satisfied with the density and thickness of the pile. They will send you samples of inexpensive carpet that's not very dense because they want to be competitive on price, but if you don't like the samples don't get turned off. Just call Joyce and ask her if they have any with a denser pile.

FYI, Legendary buys their carpet from ACC and one other supplier, forgot who. Talked to them the other day. They make door panels and seat covers,

Thanks for the info. Do you know if the same hold true for their vinyl products and headliners?

ACC has differnt grades of carpet also, If your Duster is a Automatic you will be fine there carpet fits nice. Now if you have a 4 speed like me different story. I am on my third carpet from them, the 4 speed ones are molded wrong, and the underside pads are in the wrong spot. I have have the third carpet custom done by ACC so it would fit right and it is still not 100%.

Thanks for the help guys! I ordered an ACC carpet with free shipping. It should show up tomorrow and I will hopefully get a chance to try and put it in this weekend!

Thanks again, I will let you guys know how it works out.

ACC says this hole area is for the Gas pedal??? I told the engineer they don't mount to the floor in a Duster and he yes they do 100%

The second one shows the felt over the area where the shifter would go
