Should I re-install package tray deck filler support braces?

Just as the title states, 74' swinger 2 door. I could post a pic, but those who know, know what I'm taking about. The 2 pieces of hat channel running under the tray.

I clamped it up in there, and it seemed to make little to no difference in rigidity.

Delete?
 
I would leave them in, they don't weigh much so no savings there. They probably do keep the body from flexing a little. On space dusters with the fold down seat those cross braces aren't there but the inner wheel houses have extra bracing on them in place of the cross braces. I'd put them back.

They're there for a reason. And with as flexy as these cars are, you don't want to be removing anything in the way of bracing unless there's a good reason for it. Unless you're planning on installing some other kind of cross bracing (like a 4 point hoop or something) I'd leave them in.
 
If you have done nothing to add any rigidity/stiffness to the car then leave em in.
 
Frame connectors are installed, I'm not swaying in the wind here, just figured I'd save a step.
