Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been around much for the last little while. Its been a crazy few months. In June, I went on a vacation and visited Portland again and it really made me crazy to move here. Since then I have done everything I could to get here. I sold all of my cars and parts and pretty much got completely out of the hobby. Then when things started calming down, my Grandfather passed and things got really stressful again and I never seemed to recoup before moving last weekend. Anyway, I am finely where I want to be and I couldn't be happier. I quit my job of almost eight years last Friday, I have a new job starting next week at Target, but I am not pleased with it. I re-did my resume (anyone want to proof read it and give me some constructive criticism?) and am going to go to several car dealerships Monday to work in the profession that I know I can make money in.

Anyway, here are a few pics.

Last Saturday (8-18), I left at 7:30pm and drove pretty much straight threw.

This is just outside of Pendleton, OR at about 5:30 AM. I stopped and tried to sleep in the truck in La Grande.

The Columbia river gorge is so beautiful. If you have never driven it, add it to the bucket list for sure.

I made it to Portland and got all my stuff unloaded, but pulling the uhaul at 90 mph took its tole on the poor truck and I lost the clutch on the way to drop off the uhaul.

Made me very glad that I put towing coverage on my insurance. On the subject of that. Does anyone know where I can get a new clutch for the clutch fan. That also ***** out on the way up here and shakes like crazy. I need to find one soon, but already over spent and don't know how much they are. So the truck is just sitting in the parking lot at the moment.

I love the trees up here, even my apartment is surrounded by trees

I have spent sometime downtown the last week, so here are some pics of that. :)

If you have never heard of Voodoo doughnut, you are missing out. They have some crazy awesome doughnuts, such as the bacon maple bar, old dirty bastard, the blunt, **** and balls, and many more.

Wow, Beautiful pics! It looks like a nice city. I'm glad you're happy there! Its always tough making a life changing decision like that. Best of luck in your new home!!

Thanks for sharing. How far did you drive to get there? Truck almost made all the way..bummer

Welcome Back Jeremy! It looked like nice country were you use to live but just as beautiful were you are now. Good luck finding a good paying job as well!

Thanks all. It is a beautiful place. I have not hit the Shanghai tunnels yet, but I plan to. Michael, I may take you up on that. :) You don't happen to have a trans. jack do you? I will probably end up changing the clutch out here in the parking lot. I actually live in Beaverton, so just a bit out of the city. It was around 800 miles in the ol truck. It did real good actually. The reason the fan failed is that its the clutch fan off of my 340 car, so it was old and unused for a long time. Now it wobbles like crazy. I knew the clutch was going to fail at some point. You could here the throwout bearing pretty often, and I think that is what actually failed. I have adjusted a few things and can move the truck (how I found out the fan is bad), but don't feel comfortable driving it.

Will do. Thank you. I will be buying it next week, so it may be next weekend or the one after. I will let you know if I don't think I can handle it. :)

Just a little update, I have a second interview at a Toyota Dealership as an ASM today and if that one falls threw, I have one with Hyundai next week. I decided that even though I wanted to get out of the industry, there is no sense in it as it pays well and I will be putting my hours in one way or the other. The Toyota job would be working a rotating shift of four 12 hour days, then three day weekends, sometimes even a five day weekend. That would be nice as I could fly home on those weekends to visit my family. :) I really hope I get the job at the Toyota dealer as I already know the Toyota sites and they use the same system (ADP) as I used at my last job. And the pay is WAY better. Wish me luck. :) I feel really good about it though, and I am STILL loving this place.

Hey all. Just wanted to give an update, and more pictures.

So I have been working at the Toyota dealership and doing pretty well. I have been enjoying myself and staying out of trouble. I love this place and don't see myself living anywhere else. My good friend Cris (68fishbowl) came and visited last week and it was a lot of fun. Anyway, here is a whole bunch of pictures that I have taken in my new surroundings. I love photography!!!
