1966 Dodge and the D-Dart 'Mistake'

It ain't cheating unless you get caught. Jon might have had the 273/235 cam in it.

I'm not positive --- but Al told me that the engine has mushroom tappets in it because it has a high lift cam he installed. He said the mushroom tappets allowed him to use a cam with 0.100" more lift. The only Chrysler small block cam with this additional lift and also uses mushroom tappets is P3690589.

Per the description in the Mopar Performance book "Factory engineered mechanical cam with mushroom tappets for speedway or drag use with good power from 5200 to 7400 rpm. Mechanical 320-320-116*. Ground on 110* centers. Valve lift 0.630" intake and exhaust". Another note I had from Al's stuff mentioned a max lift of 0.650".

The engine sounds very health. Doesn't idle worth crap. I think it has just a tad to much cam in it right now.
