Exploded View of Steering Column

-
When I took apart my steering column for my 68 Dart, the service manual had a couple of exploded views.

Are you looking for an exploded view of the steering coupler....?

You can download several service manuals, but the special stuff for the Barracudas is not in em

Some of these are thanks to AbodyJoe. The 69 manual is likely to be your closest help

You did, but like I stated above its not exactly what Im looking for. Im wanting to dismantle the entire column completely. I've noticed that the lower bearing needs to be replaced on mine so that is also something I want to do. Although I bought a new lower bearing and it came with 2 screws. My old bearing doesnt have any screws so Im not sure if I even have the correct one. Although its the only one Classic Industries sells for that column. Also there is a retaining ring that is near that bearing that was loose and Im unsure of the location of it. The top end of the column never had the wheel and I know its missing a few pieces from that location. This is why Im looking for a complete break down of that column.

I found these pics on the site. The first pic is what my column looks like towards the bottom of the column. The small coil spring is missing and Im unsure of the location of the collar. All the pics I find are of the columns in the 2nd pic. Has anyone ever rebuilt the style of column in the first pic and able to take a pic for a reference. I may be able to rebuild the column with just pictures.View attachment steering coumlm.jpgView attachment steering coumlm2.jpg

I'll get you a pic and some info when the sun comes up. Stay tuned

Wish I could help...dad has an "extra" column its a 67 console shift cuda....I can get pics and dismantle if need be....just might not be able to put it back together LOL...
Lemme know more than willing to help

ok, this is OEM 68 column from floor shift car that has never been apart.
I'm holding the box couplings cover up so you can see ( I hope ) the race of the bearing in the nylon. So you're asking where is the collar and spring ?
Those are for shifter return and not required.
Actually, in much later models that bearing was changed to a glorified bicycle bearing type so a spring was present to continuously take up wear in the bearing even in floor shift columns

Red, what do you mean by shifter return?

A cloumn with a shifter has a shift tube so the steering shaft runs in that tube.
When you move the shifter you feel a spring resistance not up and down just to and fro.
The spring and collar at the bottom is where the resistance comes from.

here is a copy maybe what your looking for? Might be easiest to save then explode the view.

Red, So your saying that collar and spring is not needed with this column. Just reinstall the lower bearing and call it good? If that is the case that should be fairly simple!

Yes sir. I put a collar and spring and later type bearing in the column currently in my 67.
