I was looking at ordering the torsion bars and adjusters for the 70 Duster project. Being it will be a small block I am leaning towards the .890 bars. Just not sure what brand to go with? Mopar (Mancini Racing), PST, or Firm Feel? Are they mostly made by one company and rebadged? Also are they similar to the B-body bars where you have to watch what brand you get because the hexes are not clocked correctly?

Mopar Performance ones are made in Canada if that makes a difference in quality, not sure. I hear some brands are Mexico and I'm sure China has a stake in the market too. I would think the Canadians might be of decent quality as apposed to the others. JMO

Bought mine from Just Suspension, but I can't vouch for their customer service. I've heard good and bad. Forutnately, my 1" pro-touring bars fit great and there were no issues. $199 shipped when I ordered mine.

1.00 bars would probably be overkill for my set-up. Stock rear leafs re-arched to factory specs. US car tool weld in frame connectors, stock front suspension with PST super poly kit and the 11/16 tie rods and Bilstein shocks. I won't go road racing or anything. Just looking for a better ride without being super harsh.

$199 seems pretty cheap compared to the $340 to $450 that I seem to be finding.

go with the 1" bars and a softer shock like the edelbrocks or biliestins. if you stay with the 0.89 bars KYB's work well.

The 1" bars are pretty stiff under my 340, but the rest of my front suspension is pretty much stock with Poly bushings. The only new pieces are tubular upper controls arms and Comp Engineering drag shocks.

Canada.
That's where the ones I just bought were made.

I shopped around this morning trying to decide on what to go with. I was torn between the Just Suspension 1.00 bars (actually .980 according to most buyers) and the Mopar Performance .920 bars. I gave in and went with the Mopar Performance bars and ordered the locks/seals and new adjusters while I was at it.

Call the guys at firm feel they know their stuff front back and all around. they make everything in house here in the US and customer service is no less than you can find anywhere else. I bought a pair of the 1.00 for my 73 dart havn't completed my front end work yet or put my engine in, but they appear to fit properly so far.
