Fuel cell mounting

The cell I got fits in the spare tire hole but seems too high. Should I cut the trunk floor and mount it lower?

where is your fuel pump? it is best to have your fuel pump mounted below the tank so that is is gravity fed. unless you have a pump inside the tank? most every aftermarket electric fuel pump is designed to be gravity fed. making them suck the fuel from the tank kills them. or if you have a mech. pump then everything i just said does not apply. ha ha ha the lower the better for the tank. it helps with the center of gravity.
 
Yeah cut it..............on second thought don't cut it
