now that i have been gaining weight (almost 90 lbs. ) and getting stronger i have started working out........i jog around the yard until i can break a sweat and i walk about 2 miles a day across the farms out here instead of taking the car out....and i been doing sit-ups daily.

i am pleased with what the excercise is doing to my shape and overall health and feeling good .....right now im running like a 318 4 bbl ....plenty of pep and energy and generating a moderate apetite..

i want to take it to the next level and run like a 383 4 bbl. and start kickboxing and MMA into my workout routine.

does anyone do kickboxing and if so .....any tips or pointers?

Two of my nephews train in kick boxing and one of them also train in MMA. A childhood friend of mine runs a gym in Hawaii and he goes to Thailand every year to train and stay "certified". If you seriously want to learn the art of kick boxing, look for a place that teaches Muay Boran. It's the "ancient" style of Thai kick boxing that Muay Thai is derived from. If you want serious conditioning most kick boxing/mma facilities have their roman training that puts you thru different exercise stations non-stop for an hour. Pretty tough work out but you can take a break and not have to kill yourself to get thru it. Basically do as much as you can at each station in the time you are given. Good luck with your training and I believe you will enjoy it.......maybe not at first :D

My entire family has boxed and wrestled from the time we could walk. LOL

My nephew has kick boxed his entire life and is now an amateur MMA Fighter. He has really heavy hands and his record is currently 5-2. All by knockout or submission. Most of his fights are really short. He is Gary "Lead Farmer" Dillinger. LOL

Check out this heel hook. Ouch

Thats way cool! My older nephew leans towards MMA (though he's a pharmacist by profession) but the younger one is strickly Muay Boran/Thai.

Good advice here! The sad thing is mma is so popular now there are gyms everywhere he picky about where you go. I have my first degree black belt in praying mantis my father was an instructor for years it is outlawed now because it is to aggressive. I also won junior golden glove in high school. I went to two different mma gyms and walked all over the trainers just because they havea gym does not make it a good one lol so get reviews and check to see how many students they have had go professional.
