What do you mean by stock? Is it poverty rims or anything that Mopar sold? Rims are just part of the deal. Tire width makes a difference. Supposedly, factory disk brakes widened things out a little bit as well.

I'm running 15 x 7 Magnum 500s (styled steel, offered on C-bodies in the 15" size) on a '73 Dart with factory disk brakes. The tires are 205/60-15. There has been no problem with rubbing anywhere at any time.

The '72 Demon has a '75 front end with disk brakes under it. The wheels are 15 x 7 Mopar Cop car. Using 235/60-15 T/As there is no problem in the back. Up front, I set the front fenders as far out as they would go and still maintain an acceptable gap between them and the hood. No problem with rubbing.

I tried 255/60-15s on the Demon, too. There was less than ¼" between the rear springs and the inner sidewall of the tire. Up front, no amount of fender fiddling would keep the tires from bouncing off the lip of the fender in turns.

Both sets of wheels have 4¼" offset, for what it's worth.

thanks! they are dog dish rims... i have stock front sus. w/ drum brakes for now...

if your not building a road racer the 15x7 out back with a 15x5.5 up front make a nice combo...

that is what i was thinking too. i have a set of 4 15x7's.. ill see what she looks like with all 4 on.. anyone have pics of a dart with 4 15x7's??

I run cop rims (same size) on by Dart Sports.
No problems front but your rear probably will give you problems since it isn't as wide under the sheet metal
Off the top of my head tires are 215 70R.
I'll check and if that's not the size I'll up date in the morning.

I have 15X7 ralleye with 215/60/15' all around on my 67 Barracuda.. No problems at all!! Much better road feel too.

I have 15 x 7 steelies w/ 215 65 15s all around on my Valiant, they fit fine no clearance issues at all. Just don't put too big of a tire on them and you'll be fine.

I have 225-70-15 (Same hieght as 275-60 almost) on the front of my 73 Duster with CMX wheels same dimensions as cop wheels and 275-60-15 on the back
No rubbing or massaging done

15x7 with 4 1/4 backspace

I'm running 15 x 7 on both ends. They are from a Chrysler
New Yorker.

The fit just fine.

I ran 15x7 steelies on my 73 dart and 67 barracuda with no issues. Plan on running the on my 65 dart also

Does ride height affect any rubbing? I have 15x7 on the front with 215/60/15 tires and they rub on the front on both sides. Could be that I am too low? 1967 Barracuda.

P.S. The tires on my avatar have been replaced with 15x7 (4.5 backspace) front and 15x8 (4.5 backspace) rear. The rims are Summit series 55.

Tony are those BBP or SBP on the cuda??? if they are smallbolt pattern... you say from Chryslers?

I have (4) 15 x 7 Mopar steelies on my 68 cuda. All 4 tires are 215-60x15. The date codes stamped on the wheels are early 80's. BS is 4.25". Front brakes are 73-76 A-body discs which ADD to the track width compared to SBP stuff. Mine rubs on the left front fender edge but only hear it while backing up with the wheel turned. That's the number one intereference point for 67-69 cudas. And t's very common for wheel openings to be different from side-to-side, up to 1/2" per Mopar. The Dart/Cuda openings are different so your results may vary.

When (or if) I ever get around to painting, I'm thinking of taking a narrow pie cut forward of the lip and rewelding to try to maintain the same look of the coving on the fender edge.

KosmicKuda,
That is right where they are rubbing and in reverse only! We may do a repaint and pie cutting the fenders may be in the plans. Anyone think pushing the lower a-arms back with the strut rods will work?

Using your strut rods to push the lower control arms back can cause binding, you will blow out your LCA bushings and the pivot shafts can wear a grove into the kmember over time. Now that being said you can adjust the strut rods to push the lower control arms back you just have to make sure you dont go to far. or it WILL bind. when you do this you will have to have the torsion bars unloaded and be able to freely move the suspension up and down then get an alignment. I know this the hard way I went to an alignment shop and they wrenched the hell out of my strut rods. I had to redo my entire suspension because of it. If I were you I would have the fender cut there is a thread on it. much easier IMO than messing with the suspension.
