69 Convertible Windshiled moulding lower, same as non convertible

you can make it work... but no, they are not the same.

First shot is a hardtop, 2nd is convertible. After looking at mine, I think I may be in the market for some trim pieces myself.......
The insert holds the gasket tight to the glass so it doesn't leak. I'm guessing the stainless reveal moulding probably wont completely cover the insert void so we'll need to put something in there that serves the purpose and doesn't look bad.
I bought a 5/16 diameter black lock cord for a different gasket but I haven't attempted putting all these mismatched parts together yet.

Mine looks like that... trying to figure a way to make it look better. any clues? do I have to change the windshield seal?
