why cant msds use solid core wire? i have mallory maa - 783m non supressed wired for my demon and i have access to my buddys old al6 {he up graded] and it has a sticker on it saying do not use solid core wires i was hoping to know why? be cause the wires are not even two months old

Solid core wires give off RF interference that would blow the MSD's mind. One of the many reasons I'm not a fan of electronic crap on cars....

I think stranded will carry more current. and you can break a few stands and still get electricity, if a solid breaks well your done

from what ive read and have been told a graphite/stranded supressed core wire will isolate the spark energy more efficiently providing a more consistent and solid spark, solid core has a more drawn out spark energy. that and the radio frequency will stress the system and cause it to fail.

What if I shielded the MSD box by putting it behind the firewall and also possibly shielding it with a wrap or something similar?

The thing is, the magnetic interferance from the high output of the MSD with solid wires MAY affect other circuits in your vehicle. Tach, rev limiter, EFI systems, and voltage regulator, depending on the car, it's equipment, and wiring.
