The peen is very slight and suspect they just had a jig and press to install them. This is a pic of the backside of my original. Some AS%%*^ stole the emblem off of and you can see the outline of the peen from the factory.When they stole it (pried it off) only very slight damage was done to the panel so the peen is soft. I would think if some epoxy or JB_Weld is applied into the hollow end of the emblem from the back side it would be fine.
