Quite honestly, though, it's just a technicality. I owned that car for ten years before I gave it to her, when I met her. She's never had anything nice to call her own and she needed a car. So, what kind of a hotrod boyfriend would I be if I let that slide? haha...
The car was in my name in 2001. I bought it for $600 and it was pretty tired at the time that I bought it. I had it in and out of tags over my ownership of the car while doing mechanical repairs on entire systems within the car. When my ex that I had been with since High School flipped a switch and ended up moving to L.A. with her family, it was something that I didn't need anymore... Then, I meet this other girl who needs a car... I start doing stuff to it and the next thing you know, I'm out thousands of dollars!
