got a fresh dose of WOW! new car, feather duster. been without A body a while, please refresh my memory:
Ma went to BB pattern in 73? went to 8 1/4 in 73? to change to 8 1/4, will need the driveshaft from that a body, will it slip into auto? anyone makin mags with SB pattern? what are 4 speed overdrive trans goin for here in Midwest ( Missouri)? and pedals and all hardware to change over? last time i did this was about 2002. thanks for refresher course!

Congrats on the Feather Duster! I sold mine years ago, wish I had it back, been looking for one ever since.
Mine was all Drums and small bolt pattern on all four corners. I was told that Ma kept small bolt on slants till '76. Any late model 904 yoke should fit your auto if that is the question.
My OD four speed used a 904 style yoke on it. Can't help you and any pedal or swap prices. I will keep my eyes open for you.
Post some pictures of yours, here was mine:

Hi, to the best of my knowledge, all 73 and up Disk brake cars got BBP wheels. That means some 7-1/4 axles got BBP lugs. All drum brake cars had small pattern.

You can use the driveshaft from an 8-1/4 donor car as long as it has the same wheelbase as your Duster (108"). Scamps and Darts had longer wheelbases and later Valiants also got longer wheelbases. If you have the shaft with the big yoke on it, it's very easy to have it cut down to proper length.

A disk brake swap is a worthwhile endeavor and then you aren't stuck with small pattern wheels, virtually all of the 8-1/4 axles will be BBP.

I got my Dart Lite over 20 years ago and doubt I will ever part with it. Other than mine I haven't seen a Dart Lite or Feather Duster around here in years. Definitely hang on to it.

if you want to splurge you can get a custom driveshaft from Denny's Driveshaft, made of ... you guessed it... aluminum.

Hi, to the best of my knowledge, all 73 and up Disk brake cars got BBP wheels. That means some 7-1/4 axles got BBP lugs. All drum brake cars had small pattern.

All the disk cars after '73 had BBP wheels. My '74 Duster has disks, a 7 1/4 rear, and BBP all the way around.

Congrats on the Feather Duster! If I weren't changing my '74 over to a Demon I'd be looking for those aluminum body parts. Pretty cool.

833 4 speed OD's aren't that expensive, I've paid anywhere from $100 to $250 for one, but no more than that even in good shape. Although most of mine are truck transmissions with the B/E long tail shaft. Pedals usually run around the $150 mark, give or take some depending on condition.

i traded off my 73 satelitte this weekemd for a 72 /6 duster, runs, drives, some lower rust and little in floors. wanted to just sell the b body but ya know, here in south missouri or in general, hard to find anyone with any money, i did get some boot to pay for the things that you always find after a trade!? yea i know the sat was worth more, but..... brake work for one. bacvk set is perfect, so are the front buckets ( they are for 65 darts!) got a friend with correct seat, so the 65 are for sale.
yea i now, 2 dusters. but a true tip off to being a true mopar car is ya never seen one ya didn't want!!!??
the darned dusater is very original, with air. i work outside and hate ac. plus its totally in the way workin on it. i hate to take it off and hate to leave it on. ya know it will take $$$$$ to have it fuctionng. WHAT to do????
hey "72 blunblu" has 4 old cars!??? a wife tooo????

All the 'feathers' I have seen were small bolt with drums on all four corners. Now dont forget the aluminum stuff has to stay to make it all work. Light stuff was intake, exhaust pipes, underside of hood and trunk, and bumper brackets, (thinking I forgot something). Anyhow, when tuned right these cars get fantastic MPG. There is not many of these around. Keep it as original as possible. Check out the 'Wheel Vintiques' website. They make some nice small bolt rallye wheels in 6,7, and 8 inch X 15 inch wheels. You can also get a couple of different types of trim rings and early center caps too. The wheels are powder coated. Just for reference 7 inch X 15 in small bolt is about 120 per wheel. I dont know about the 7 inchers on the front as Dusters have smaller wheel openings than Darts but 6 inchers should do the job nicely. These wheels have 4 5/8ths backspace so for fronts the possibilities are like 225X60X15. For the rears the 8 inchers will fill the wells nicely and you should be able to run 265X60X15 without hitting anything. Do check with someone who may have these wheels on their car for exact tire size but I should be close. I have my Swinger setup with 7X15 wheels on the back with 255X60X15. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!
Chas.

I think the Transmission case was Aluminum too. I read that they got close to 36 MPG! That is incredible for a 70s car...

the feather does have the alum under hood bracket , bumper reinforce, but not under trunk lid. did talk to another guy that had a n orininal one and he siad his lacked the alum under trunk. my car in obvious orinial paint and trunk lid. i can't find G>G. decoder, fender tag reads B43 which i'm thinkin is code for brakes, this car is b b p and disc up front??
