Pricing some upcoming parts and I realized i still need an alt. for my build. 72 Scamp. Stock wiring harness. I will be adding in a MSD box, Electric fuel pump and also dual electric fans other wise outside of lighting, gauges and radio I shouldnt have anything else. Can someone recommend a alternator that will keep up with all this?

The 60 amp stock alternator will keep up with it just fine.
If you want to get a little overkill, you could run two batteries and a 90 or 100 amp.
I have eveything you mentioned for electrical devices and the 60 works just fine. (about 50 bucks) and you can get them anywhere.

If your battery stays charged, your alternator is fine. For the first few weeks, put it on a charger every Sat morning and see if it gets to "full charge" in 30 min or less. If so, it is staying charged. I think the square-back alt will prove fine. If you decide you need more, PM me for a rebuilt 110 A alternator I bought but won't use because it turned out to be a beast. You can see on Autozone. I think they put them in some 70-80's trucks, maybe for a tow winch.

Ive been running a summit chrome 100 am on mine for 4 years now and no problems at all. I did the amp gage update also and use a gage now.

As of now i dont have an altenator. This is for a restoration was just looking for a good starting point.

I agree w/ TrailBeast that the ~60A "square-back" alternator should work fine. They put them in 80's FWD Mopars w/ electric fans (the main load). They started in A's in early 1970's, but lookup 1975 Dart to be safe. You need the later "2 field" electronic regulator (triangular connector w/ 2 pins), or you can wire it for "1 field" by grounding one field terminal (best get electronic Vreg $11). Use whichever style your car has to minimize wiring effort.

60 amp should be fine as long as the rest of the system- mainly wiring- is in good order. Most people go overboard with alternators.

have the same setup in my powerwagon, stock 60A squareback. i converted it to a one wire with a transpo D7014 (36 bucks) regulator and bypassed the ammeter with 4GA braided stereo cable as my main charge wire. ive never had a problem.

Advance has a 78amp reman unit i can score for $44 with my discount code. Then another $15 off that for core charge. Will this be too much. IM sure its a round back style?

i ran a 78 amp I bought at work (napa) and our reman company is BBB Industries, they also own wilson reman company, and their "78 amp" alternator only put out 60 tops, and i went through 4 units before i actually found a legitimate 78 amp alternator. So word to the wise, have it bench tested in front or your own eyes before you pay a few bucks more for an improperly badged 60 amp alternator. On the flip side when I did finally accuire my 78 amp unit i began to melt all of my connections. hence why i did the 4 gauge charge wire/voltmeter conversion.
