I am sure this has been discussed here before, but I'm curious what your thoughts are. I am looking into putting a transbrake into my Dart, along with a delay box for top bulb racing. My current engine is a 499 big block, but I am considering going to a pump gas small block, somewhere around 400-450 horsepower. My main reason for doing this is, the big block is just too darn expensive to run week in and week out for points bracket racing. I have to run 110 octane in it, and being 500 inches it drinks alot of it. Not to mention that I really don't need the big motor since all I run is weekly bracket shows anyway. Now for the main question, will my 8 3/4 survive behind the mild small block with the trans brake, if I keep the launch at around 3000 or less? The 8 3/4 has a stock case, spool, and 35 spline Moser axles, but its not backbraced, but I will likely do that if and when I make the switch. Thanks for the help, and sorry for the book:yawinkle:

Sorry, meant some advice, LOL. Mods, will you please change the title, thanks!

Plant City? I must know you? Any way I ran a 71 BB Scamp With a brake For many years with a 489 case 4.89 gear, 35 spline axles and a spool on 29x11.5x 15 Slicks.

if E85 is avaialble in plant city, you could start using that. you can get quick fuel carbs already calibrated to use E85. it will run fine, some people run it on 13.8:1 compression.

it's a lot easier to change a carb than to change your whole engine out.

I really don't know where you can buy E-85 In Plant City or near by. Funny in Ga. it seems that every one sells it.

Quit getting arrested will help a lot.

You know somebody had to say it. :)
