1971 Scamp limited....

That looks good George.
Don't worry, i'll find a 5 1/2'' wheel for you.
I vote for white lettering on the outside too!

Well I just got home from work. I couldn't wait, because my Legendary seat covers had arrived while I was away. I ordered these on Jan 31. They took some time to be manufactured. I believe they actually build as they are ordered. Once they were shipped they took exactly one week to arrive here. Pretty good for cross border shipping. I had thought I was going to have to remove them from the box and lay them out to relax, but to my pleasant surprise, Legendary uses proper packaging. They were shipped in a box that required no folding of the covers. Two big thumbs up for Legendary. :thumblef::thumblef: On top of this, they are beautiful. They look like they are top notch quality and workmanship. Now I just have to learn how to run hog ring pliers! The only part that bothers me is poking holes in them to install the seat medallions.....man I hate cutting into brand new material! :banghead:
Also Tom, aka Dartnut, went above and beyond the call of friendship :prayer: and got me my fourth 14 X 5 1/2" wheel! I will now sandblast all four and paint them black. White lettering out with Plymouth dog dish caps.......Oh Yaaaa!

Thanx, welcome to the Scamp world! I have a small leak at the rear main as well, but not worth the repair. I will likely build another engine sometime as this is a used / unknown. Funny you mentioned pics, I just realized last night how many there is, 175 now! I guess it's handy to look back and see the process. Hope you start a thread and I'll keep on it as well. :D

Nice seat covers!! Was the car an original bucket seat console optioned car? I like the look of buckets and console. I may do the swap to the scamp I just bought.

Thanx guys. Yes it was original. I was way too happy to find this one.

Now I have to admit something......I found my drivers seat foam to be a little bit worn. I know it can be repaired but, I just got off the phone with a local upholsterer. He will repair and assemble both seats for $100. I figure that is a pretty smokin' deal compared to some of the quotes I have seen on here, so I'm headed out the door now. I know, I know, I could do this, but I'm willing to pay for this part of my car to be done by a "pro". If it was any more I would reconsider.

That is cheap. I would pay them also to have it done.

I knew you would be happy with the quality of those seat covers. Legendary is the best! Can't wait till you get them on. When I had mine done, they still had a few small wrinkles in them when I picked them up from the upholstery shop. He said that the small wrinkles would smooth out once I installed them in the car and the sun got on them. He was right. So, if you have the same thing happen, don't sweat it.

Got the steelies on. Not sure whether to run dog dishes or just the lug nuts now. I guess it will just depend on how I feel for which look to run. I like it both ways.

Thanks for the cudos, George.
The car looks better with the dog dishes in my opinion........
But what do i know, i'm just a f.o.p.
lol
Can't wait to see the seats installed!

Thanx guys, I think dog dishes, or as the wife keeps mistakenly calling them dog bowls, are the choice. I am hoping the seats will be in by Tuesday or Wednesday. I keep saying there's not much left to do, but I believe I'm down to a wheel alignment now!!

:D I got my seats back today! :blob: The guy did an awesome job, even added a little extra foam on the drivers side as it was worn the worst. There are a couple little wrinkles in the headrests, but I think those will work out in time. Not too worried about it anyway, they are good enough for Rex. I figured I was pleased enough that I gave him an extra $20. So for $120 he took the seats apart, repaired the drivers foam, installed the covers and reassembled them. Pretty good deal in my eyes, he will get more work from me. I think not gouging the customer the first time makes you more money in the long run. He has already got referrals from me. Then after I got them back in, I installed the dog dishes and lowered the front end a little, 5 turns out on the torsion bar bolts. I can't go too far or the headers will be draggin' on the ground! But I ain't goin' 4x4ing so I should be alright! So shy of the wheel alignment and insurance inspection later this week, what you see here is the finished product, hopefully! I just want to thank all my FABO friends for parts, info, support and guidance during this build. :prayer: I couldn't have done it without you.
I hope you have enjoyed Rex's thread.

Wow! Those seats look awesome! Like I said in my earlier post, those small wrinkles should disappear when the sun gets on them. I think Rex will be a sweet ride and you will appreciate it even more, since you did the work yourself. Way ta go George... You rock!!
