Since hollywierd always does remakes of movies, how about a remake of bullitt from 1968? . The bullitt new mustangs can be used as is with safety mods for stunt drivers , ditto for the new charger R/T. Who could pull off a cool anti hero like steve mcqueen ?

Sounds like a good idea, but you know they'd bring Michael Bay in and then EXPLOSIONS!!!!! because why not...

Uh, because all remakes are ****. Excuse the language, but there are NO OTHER words in any language which adequately convey my opinion on this matter. No original movie I know of was improved by a sequel or remake.

If you want to watch Bullit, go obtain a copy of the original

Besides, if they did remake Bullit, they would star Vin Diesel, who should be barred forever from ever acting in any movie

I have never observed Vin Diesel doing anything I would call "acting" in any movie.

LOL. Maybe I should've said "acting like he was acting."

Couldn't have said it better myself.

agree..remakes are ****....and second the thoughts on Vin Diesel...

I agree diesel vin sucks and cant act.id sure like his paycheck tho.how about his part in the first FnF movie. (my dad lost his life on turn 2 in a pro stock race) wtf.correct me if im wrong, but isnt pro stock a.form of drag racing?!? Turn 2 would be the return road wouldent it LOL. The whole FnF franchise appeals to thos who dont know cars, or the import fart can ID10Ts.

So who else could play the anti hero?

How could ever find a cooler dude than Steve McQueen. His son try's but is no comparison. Plus who is going to tweed jacket and black turtle neck these days? **** he even made that look cool.
No tweed no movie... Just saying

Yeah! they could make it a comedy, with Will ferrell playing Bullitt ! & use a dark green Ford Fiesta & a black Dodge Caliber!

Don't mess with perfection! Leave it be and that way it will always be thought of as cool on it's own without cheap comparison remakes. The Mustang with McQueen driving, chasing the Charger will always be one of my favorite car chase's. Jacqueline Bissett wasn't to shabby either:)

Sport jacket and turtleneck. Well didnt miami vice start the trend with the white jackets and pastel t shirts. I never thought that was cool, but i saw many sportin "the look" who knows, if the movie was done, and done well, it might start the turtle neck sport coat trend again. Everything old becomes new again. It becomes new to a younger generation because they dont remember it being done before. Some of the stuff my 14 year old daughter likes is older chic fashion. But to them its new and fresh.

Yep its one of my favs too. I have a copy, how about when he passes the same green beetle twice, or the incredible appearing white sedan with black vinyl top lol. All joking aside it was freaking cool.

Did you know that the almost wreck with the guy who dropped his motorcycle in the chase scene was not planned. The road was closed off, but somehow he ended on it. Dumped the bike when he saw the cars coming, and it was so realistic they played that clip.into the chase scene part of the movie.

Damn just had lunch at whataburger, now i need a nap

Not all remakes/sequels suck, I thought the newest Rambo was the best. Maybe that has a lot to do with I own a m107 and it was used in the movie.

I remember watching the documentary on McQueens life and they told about that motorcycle bit in the movie. Gotta hand it to the biker for some really quick thinking. I bet you he had to change his shorts when that was over! Great scene. They said that halfway through that chase, the Mustang's brakes were gone and it was all he could do to get the thing stopped when he slid off the road at the end. McQueen was the king of cool.

I agree with you except for one remake. The Italian Job. I saw the remake which was pretty good. Then I found out it was a remake and got the origninal to watch since the originals are usually better. I couldn't finish watching the original one.

I'm not a big fan of remakes and I think there have been one or two remakes that I have liked. Vanishing Point the remake was good or I thought it was.

If they would every do a remake to Bullitt they should get Steve McQueen grandson to play the part. He kind of looks like him in a lot of ways.

He plays on a TV show called Vampire Diaries and was just killed off on the show. He also played in the remake to Piranha. I think he is going to hit the big screen now more.

His name is Steven R. McQueen and I will post a link to his IMDB page.

So long as the inevitable destruction is CGI (rather than trashing more classics), I'm on board.

No the premise was a modern version, new charger new mustang. Theres plenty of these to wreck

Steve McQueen was the coolest... and in real life to. when he was racing motorcycles in the desert he crashed out my uncle. i don't know the full details but he handled the entire situation with the utmost class... even gave his motorcycle to my uncle.

Sure why not... but only if they include the charger loosing the same 2 hub caps 5 times. Both cars have to be automatics with the double clutching 4 speed sound effects. They have to pass the same green VW beetle and white pontiac 4 times from different angles, And both cars must be completely destroyed by the end of the chase. Oh and for kicks they can both jump over the Golden Gate Bridge leaving trails of fire as they fly hundreds of feet through the air at 88 mph. New movie chase scenes with all their cgi nonsense SUCK!
I cant think of any actors today that could even come close to playing the parts of Steve McQueen or Bill Hickman.
