4.56s on the steet ?

I love this thread, only because it brings back so many memories. Where I got started in the DC area in the early/mid 70's, that was a entry level gear if you were anybody on the street.....lol. Didn't have to look far to find 88's & 5.13's either. My neighbor had a Nomad with a roller'd 327, tunnel ram & 5.38's.

Being serious though, I ran 56's with a 27" tire for about a year. It was by no means a daily driver although I had it out 5 or so times a week. Everything was close by and city type roads so it wasn't a big deal. Even the track was only about 30mi away by back roads. I can tell you that anything over about 50mph for any period of time will get on your nerves quickly.

Oh, and 105 octane pump gas was only 35/40 cents a gallon back then. :mrgreen:
