Over-center spring install question...

What type of pressure plate are you using? If it is a diaphragm type, leave the spring off.

Do i just push pull and pry this thing on, or do I have some parts that are not right? The pedal brkt is the stock one from my 69 Valiant auto. No idea what the pedals or the spring came off of....
