Hey Tony, that was cool. Getting the car ready for cruisin' season (if it ever actually warms up outside)?

Hey Ruger,That's me in the red 63 Valiant.Drove it out there from Vegas.Sold it to a guy at the Mineral Beach car show when I was in PA. 170 CID Power House !

Glad to see I'm not the only one with a 20+ second slant six car, don't even have to break the speed limit to get to the end of the track.

There are quite a few 17 sec and slower slant six racers. It is "bracket" racing, and more about haveing fun. Run what you can afford to. Everyone has an equal chance. In 2011, at Knoxville Tn, which is an 1/8 mile track, I had to give more then 8 sec head start to a 64 Valiant, bone stock street car. Double break out and I was further under, The stock Valiant won.

Thanks for sharing the video. I am gaining more intrest in the slant six all the time.

The post about not breaking the speed limit made me laugh. When I was taking drivers ed I asked the instructor if I could run it through the 1/4 and he said if you dont break any laws. It was a 79 Ford Granade with a six cylinder, four of us in the car, no tire spin slipped through at 54 mph.

At the MATS show in Vegas, Scott has won most of the /6 races in the last 11 years. He has a Lancer and runs in the 18's.

Nice! Is that Mason Dixon? I'm only like a 1/2 hour away, if I get get off I want to go up for their slant weekend this year.

Yes that is Mason-Dixon. This year the Mopar weekend, and Slant Six race is May 18-19th. Bring your slant six vehcle and have some fun. I have traveled from Florida to three of them, and have a ball every year. Sadly this year I am unable to make it, due to some financial issues.

Dang Charrlie,I was hoping for a rematch but with my Dart this time.If things go as planned I should make it there.
Broke the speed limit by 3 mph ! 68.01 Not bad for a stock 50 year old car.

Wish I could be there to accomadate you. I don't think I will be able to make any slant races this year. Some SOB's broke into some property I was repairing for rental, twice. First time, in Feb, stole 4 window AC units, and the second time in March, stole the appliances. I have to get the units rented, so I have to take the money I had to go to M-D, to replace this stuff. With it being a 2100 mile round trip, with gas, food, nitrous, race fuel, entry, and 5 nites of motel, I have to allow about $1,000 for the trip.

Wow Charrlie :banghead: That is terrible bud, there has been a rash of thieves close by my home in the last 2 years, a new home was built and someone went in and cleaned them out.. outside 5 ton unit and the inside unit that was still in the box, 3 to 4 days later my/our friend that has a saw mill just up the road was hit by Thieves.... I was hit and did not know it, my whip to my 75.000 Generator heavy 220 plug I hook to the house and my floor jake and 3 jack stands, I had outside :eek:ops:.
Back on subject :burnout: I enjoy our 1/8 mile track here, yea some folks say it's a track that brings danger and I am :sign3: But hay! no one has been hurt there and has been open for 50 years R.I.P George Ray, I brake the speed limit and enjoy time doing it on the track Thank you for all you and all the /6ers here
Nothing feels better then to be lined up next to a chevy truck and pull a good light and he is trying to catch you with his V8 :D:D 11.27 last time I ran, hopping on having fun with my daily driver this year with my 170 ci /6 and get in the high 10's Have a great day Charrlie Happy Easter day to you and your folks and everyone here  :coffee2:

That looks like fun. Not many in line sixes run here in central Maine let alone slant cars. The local track I go to every year or so for a few time trial runs during a car show is a 1/8 mile job. For you scoff laws out there braking the speed limit by three MPH I’m in the club, got the Tee Shirt; 1/8th 10.3 sec @ 68.3 mph.

Woo Hoo!! Got me by .2
I'm with you Charrlie I know the pain of being ripped off,,And empty pockets. Maybe we will see you in the future. Take care.

Hey Harry!!! How you been?? I am still messing with mine. But will make the first cruise I am sure. I didn't get much done over the winter. My garage don't have heat. I'll shoot you a text tomorrow. I am not sure if you have my cell number?

Hi Darter!!! Too cool. I came across that vid, and just figured some guys here might enjoy it. I am still debating. Build the 6, or swap for an 8. Seems easier to build the 6...LOL
Hope I see you this summer?

Hey, Ruger64
Mopar weekend with slant six racing May 18-19 at Hagerstown Md. There will be several slant racers from Pa. There is a slant racer in your town of Irwin. Don't know if he is on here, but is active on slantsix.org
