Holley Help????

I'm in the process of rebuilding a converted 4-corner idle Holley 750 DP (list- 4779-2). Upon dis-assembly, I found what looks to be RTV in the fuel groves of the base plate to separate the front and rear idle circuits. I have since taken it out.

How should I go about blocking this transfer groove? Will JB Weld hold up to today's fuels? How about drilling and tapping for a small set screw? When you buy one from holley, they have an aluminum dowel to plug the slot, but I don't have the means to do that.
