"Rookie-Touring" '69 Dart

oh I got it now, the rack is stationary and instead of rotating the steering arm the steering wheel just moves it side to side. I was thinking that the green brackets rotated so that it would make a Z shape when you turned the wheel. Instead it is constantly in a | ] shape that just slides left and right.

Progress is being made, albeit slow and no pics, yet. I took a month off to travel and bit and be sick, good times... Back on it as of yesterday and will hopefully get some pics up soon.

After over a month off because of illness, travel, and other fun stuff, I'm finally working on the car again. My firewall/core support bars have been completed and I raised the engine/trans 1-1/4" to gain additional clearance for my steering system. Today I added my version of a monte carlo bar...

Still need to finish the fender mounts but the engine compartment is coming together. Mocked up my radiator...

Somewhere amidst this mess is an oil cooler. I'll hopefully be installing the Canton oil cooler thermostat and my remote oil filter mount...

Built my seat mounts and installed my seats...

Mocked up a wooden steering column and will hopefully receive the real deal tomorrow, courtesy of MCB and Ididit...

More to come over the next week or so, hopefully...

Sweet deal Will. Nice to see someone else chugging along. Seats look good and that engine looks Sooooo good in there.

Thanks John. Pretty cool deal you have going with your air suspension supplier. I'm jonesing to get my stuff mounted on the car but I've got too much fab to do to be playing with air bags. I did drop it just for fun to its aired out height, 2" to the rocker, pretty freaking ridonkulous!

That's low. You and your tube frame have me jealous. I'll be like 1" to the rail so about 3.5" to the rocker.

welcome back Will....looks like you jumped right back in. I'll have to live vicariously through you guys till mine comes back from paint...nice work as always.

Will - I think it would actually look pretty slick if you put tabs for Dzus fasteners on the main tube that runs from the firewall to the radiator then created inner fender panels that attached horizontal and vertical to close off the engine bay from the wheel wells. You could use a bead roller to add stiffening ribs with a pattern similar to your hood or something that fit your personal taste.

Will it is glorious excess as usual when I look at your car. It looks like you have have plenty of room for a pair of turboes to me...

Yes, planning something along these lines, though I may do them out of 'glass. We'll see when I get there, but definitely doing inner fenders and they will be removable.
