Like title says I'm looking for a new working for wiring harness with modern fuse box . Previous owner really screwed the wiring doing the 440 conversion. Well is a 72 with a big block 440. I know painless makes one but was seeing what every body else was using, and why? Thanks for the help guys.

I have considered rewiring my Barracuda, but there are other makers out there besides Painless and some are considerably cheaper. You can also just buy a fuse block and build your own. I'm still undecided and I also have quite of time before I have to decide since I put everything on hold for about a year and a half.

American Autowire...AbodyJoe has one and I will be installing mine soon. Great price off of Amazon

I plan to use a ron francis kit. They have many options, from inexpensive factory replacement to a full blown customizable fuseblock. They have many mopar connectors, so you do not have to chop off everything and use gm stuff (steering column may have to). Also I want to do a very clean engine bay, and since some of the kits terminate at the fuse block, you can make the wire lengths exactly what you want. I also like the option of a fuse block that can be hidden behind the dash, but can be unhooked and moved into the light for trouble shooting. If you request a free catalog on the web site it is good to have as there is great information about wiring in general. I use the catalog as a reference quite often. Though pricey, also plan to add their keyless ignition/proximity key feature as well. It is an easy security system and just plain cool.

My friend used a speedway builds harness on his rat rod. But I couldn't find any reviews on them and his is a 5 year project, that he is going g to drive for the first time this weekend. So we will see how durable it is in a few years.

I like the American Autowire kits for sure. Very good quaity.

However, I used an EZ Wire 12 circuit mini fuse kit for my 68 barracuda. There was A LOT of stuff I had to do, and add to it for it to be complete.

I just put an American Autowire kit in a '69 Camaro, and it was about the smoothest install I've ever had. If their Mopar kits are as good, you should be more than happy with it.

Don't forget to check friends and neighbors for possible wiring kits they have that may not get used.
I just got a screaming deal on a complete Painless PN 10127 Mopar kit from a friend. The brand new kit was in a '67 Barracuda project he just bought and he decided he'd rather modify the factory wiring if necessary than completely rewire the car.
I'm going to use it in my first wiring project - my '69 Dart.
Good luck in your search.

I went to the show last summer in Syracuse NY. The Rep from American Auto Wire was there showing off their stuff. We chatted for a bit and I was sold. My Demon has a 440 six-pack. I switched from the stock alternator to the 1 wire Denso kit. Really didn't like the old Amp gauge or the glass fuses. New kit comes with the ATO style fuses and all the wiring is color coded and stamped. Easy to read directions and all necesary connections. I bought a new proper bulk-head connector from Moparts Connection in Ontario and unless you knew that the harness was changed, it looks almost as if it was born there from the factory. Sure beats the price from Year One.
