well I managed to get this junk yard dog running and it sounds good but it has a little miss in it. I put a mix matched set of wires on it when I freshened it up and I think it may be in the wires. It is a 360 and I believe it came out of a 78 or 79 whatever. I think the wires I have on it now is 7MM and I don't think that is right. I was thinking of putting either 8 or 8.5 MM on it. It is a stock driver, nothing fancy. what do I need to put on this thing. Thanks,Bill

I believe Mopar always used 7mm wires on their V8's. Every Mopar V8 I've owned had 7mm wires from the factory. If it's a stock engine your probably not going to see any gain from any plug wires so use what you like the looks of and is in the budget. Summit has some good deals on their namesake wire sets in 8mm size. Less than $40 last time I looked. You might want to look at them. If you want a name brand Taylor's are real nice and kinda in the middle on pricing.

you are correct mopar daddy in price and all brands work probally no better than the other but i have baught many wires over the years and the quallity of these are next to none but i maybe wrong there is so many out there

i jus went through this but it wasnt the problem on my car i was useing cheap brand wires on the aspen and i have had the same set of cut to fit summit 8mm ones for years 3years at least no problems but it was cheaper because our napa has rewards sign ups now i got 20% off on accel they were 43 bucks gottem for like 35 they are great, so my awnser pretty much any 8mm wires! imo that is even on a daily driver mine is slightly upgraded but still

Not saying your wrong by any means!

I would go to the auto parts store and buy a nice set of precut wires and put them on. No need to get technical unless you have headers and need high heat wires.

thanks guys, I didn't know if there were much difference in 7Mm or 8Mm wires. I do believe my problem is in the wires though. It may be because when I freshened up this engine I may have found a bad wire on the engine when it was pulled from the other car and by looking at it I think I stuck a wire off of an old chevy on there just to get it running. I don't think the Dart gets along too good with a chevy wire on him. But thanks. I think I will just go ahead and get a set of 8MM Accel wires from Summit and put them on there then. They seem to do pretty good on my Duster.

I am using MSD Streetfire Wires on my project. They are a made in USA, 8mm, black. universal fit set. Cost about $35 at Summit. Seem to work fine.

Unfortunately I cut one wire a little short, and wanted to redo my coil wire with straight boots/terminals instead of the 90 degree ones that came with my kit.

Autozone was on the way home from work. I usually expect the cheapest of the worst from them, and was expecting to buy a single wire along with boots and terminals for the coil wire.

I ended up buying a complete set of Duralast #1601 cut-to-fit wires (90 degree dizzy & plug boots, straight coil wire boots, plain black rubber, 8mm, 2 year warranty) that are made in USA and look an awful lot like my MSD's. For $15 the set.

I was very pleasantly surprised at both the quality and price. Unless they turn out to have some hidden flaw these should be real popular with the budget-minded.

FWIW Duralast #1600 is the same wire set but with straight plug boots, and both sets come with terminals for HEI & socket style dizzys.

all of them will work, you might want to check the ohms of resistance for performance------
