Running a fairly radical 408 with lots of cam in 71 Dart. Currently have regular engine mounts with torque strap. Problem is the engine shakes around a lot and the header clearance is very, very tight. Shiny new ceramic TTI's, and I don't want to chew them up. I have a set of Moroso solid mounts and am considering their install. Car is 90% street at this time. I have never run solid mounts before. I will be making a custom shroud for the fan soon and want to have some close clearance on it, but don't want to eat it up also.

Appreciate your thoughts! Thanks........

I made some solid mounts for my 66 for this season, I have not run mine yet, I am expecting a lot more vibration. Pettyblue, you have solids on yours? If so, did you make your own?

Another option is to run one solid and one rubber mount.
Put the solid mount on the direction the motor is turning...Driver side ?

Thanks guys........not that I don't mind the shaking, but just the engine shaking independent a lot from the chassis.

OR, you could try the Schumacher Poly Lock engine mounts. I have a set with my small block. I like them.

you will get a very significant vibration. my dads demon runs elephant ears and the car vibes really hard. like you cant leave the ash try open or you will have ash all over the car. it gives a very distinct feel.

X2. I use them on my 408 and have no issues. I run TTi headers as well. It is tight around the steering, especially at the coupler, but once tou get the engine in just right it will clear. I also run a Schumacher torque strap and I have never had any issues with engine shifting or headers hitting.
