April 6th is the first open test and tune at Lebanon Valley Dragway in New York the closest track to me, which is a little over 2 hours away. Been working on passing safty inspection I think shes good to 9.99 installed updated belts, window net, transmission blanket, metal valve stems, transmission filler tube lock, cage fully padded, fuel cell boxed in,fuel line on outside of frame rail,2 batteries in trunk securly mounted, power kill switch, drive shaft loop, sfi balancer, sfi flex plate, sfi jacket, 2005 snell helmet, radiator overflow tank, neutral safty switch works, aftermarket axels, new drilled and slotted front rotors, new front mt bias ply 25x4.5x15 drag tires, new manual steering gear and pitman arm new bad *** 68 440 30 over, rebuilt 727, rebuilt 742 case 8 3/4,4.30 richmond gears, used but good 29.5x11.5x15 firestone slicks. garage paint job vinyl deacals and perfomace decals. Not a gay show car, but an old skool home built hillbilly, redneck, blood sweat and tears ,busted knuckles no sponsor, no help built hot rod. maybe she's not done right (hate that saying) but she's fast, loud and fun thats all that matters to me.

Well your ahead of me.I,m still waiting for the Supersheild:banghead:Hoping to be ready for April myself.Good luck!

P.S Post results.

I'm shooting for the end of April, the first bracket race is the 28th. Still need to get my new slicks. I'll order them in the next week or two.

Good luck Duster Drag Car!

in the 9's the brake line needs to be moved from the firewall incase of a flywheel/TQ explosion. the fuel line needs to be shielded where it crosses the flywheel path as well. also on the padding it has to be SFI just where your head could hit. so the drivers half of the main and halo bar, the top of the down bar between the main and halo bar. also need a head rest and seats mounted to roll bar.

Love the way,you mentioned your build. 805,has a good point. Best of luck,sounds like a shakedown of a new combo.If so,do a couple of 1/2 passes.My .02....

braided fuel lines need not be shielded...

from nhra rule book

Brake lines must be steel, steel braided, or
DOT-approved flexible and routed outside the framerail, or enclosed in
a 16-inch length of 1/8-inch minimum wall thickness steel tubing
securely mounted where line(s) pass the flywheel bellhousing area
and not routed in the driveline tunnel. All brake lines must be attached
to chassis as per OEM style; hoses must have mounting brackets; no
tie wraps, tape, etc.

from nhra rule book

Good luck! I'm not ready.... Nor have I even started to work on the car.
